Host Families

Host Families

The Greenwood Flying Monkeys are looking for welcoming local families to host our players during the summer season.

Each summer, collegiate players from across the country come to Greenwood to compete in the Blue Ridge League. These athletes spend their summers sharpening their skills and representing our community at Legion Field. Host families play an essential role in making that experience possible by providing a comfortable home away from home while the players are in town.

Host families provide players with a place to stay during the season, typically from late May through July. Players spend most of their time at the ballpark or traveling with the team, so hosting generally means offering a bedroom, access to laundry, and a welcoming household environment. Many families also enjoy sharing meals with their players and becoming part of their summer experience.

Being a host family is one of the most rewarding ways to be involved with the Flying Monkeys. Families often form lasting friendships with their players, staying in touch for years and even visiting them during their college careers. Players frequently describe their host families as one of the most memorable parts of their summer baseball journey.

In addition to supporting the team, host families become a special part of the Flying Monkeys community. Many are recognized at games throughout the season and are invited to team events and activities. It’s a unique opportunity to connect with college athletes, support the Greenwood baseball tradition, and help make Flying Monkeys baseball possible.

If you are interested in becoming a host family for the Greenwood Flying Monkeys, we would love to hear from you. Your support helps bring collegiate summer baseball to Greenwood and ensures our players feel right at home while representing the Lakelands this summer.
